If you really think that loa is all you need to manifest something, then
you are ignorant of the real way to use it. Yes, working for 3 months 10
hours a day to achieve a check or a goal IS the result of positive
thinking. BUT, the positive thinking didn’t do the work, YOU did, and there
are many people who work their whole lives and never save a nickel, or
can’t keep the same job for a month because of being late, or hate their
job and go nowhere. The state of mind is the variable, THAT is what enables
that person to work those three months 10 hours a day, work ethic,
determination, commitment, etc. Any of your friends who say the check just
magically manifested, are fucking stupid and have no clue how to use that
    concept.

LOA is based on The Secret which was pretty much stolen wholesale from an
author named Wallace Wattles who wrote a few books and articles about a
century ago. The difference is that Wattles didn’t advocate positive
thinking in the way these New Age people use it. Wattles advocated
SPECIFIC thinking. That is: thinking in a specific way, which he called
the Certain Way. The author of The Secret interpreted it to mean that if
you think about good things then good things will happen to you.

Wattles theory was that WHAT you think affects objective reality. In fact,
Wattles never denounced objective reality. He admitted that you will more
likely have a successful business if you build it in a big city rather than
in the middle of a desert.

The Secret is a complete misrepresentation of what Wattles actually
advocated. Wattles didn’t advocate tossing out the idea of reality in
favor of assuming that your daydreams will come true. He advocated the
idea of what and how you think having an actual effect on physical reality.
Basically, if you focus on disease you are more likely to become sick. If
you don’t think about disease you are less likely to become sick. It
wasn’t even about positive thinking. It was about the thoughts themselves.

Wattles came to his theory after spending thirty years studying rich people
to find out how to become wealthy. He noticed that the most significant
similarity between rich people was not their methods to gaining wealth, but
their attitude. Wattles concluded that this attitude had effects that went
beyond merely changing their behavior. Wattles believed that there was a
Certain Way to think about things which would produce the most successful
    results in any endeavor.

I found the Wattles material to be a much better read than any of the New
Age woo woo about the Law Of Attraction. Wattles is much more analytical
about his theory and his proposed methods. Although, I’m not sure that I
would call it science. I don’t agree that using the Certain Way method
will necessarily have any effect on reality in the way that Wattles
proposes. It does seem more likely to produce results than thinking of
butterflies and rainbows and expecting a new car to magically appear in
your driveway. So, that at least is something.

Wattles never advocated ignoring reality outright. The Certain Way was a
balance between focusing on what you want and recognizing reality as it is
without getting stuck in the rut of expecting things to turn out wrong.
But instead of that, The Secret convinced people to sit around for 12
hours on their couch meditating about money appearing in their mailbox.

Your thoughts do not attract things. They propel you towards things.
Thoughts give desire and fire to action, action moves you towards
something. Thats how it works. Not thinking of something and sitting on
your ass. The fact that these people get annoyed when their life isnt
totally perfect.. Shows how weak their minds actually are. Imagine if they
had the balls to dance in the rain and still get shit done and still get
what they want regardless of how they feel.
The law of attraction trained people to become addicts to the level of
dopamine in their bodies.. so they sit around getting high all day and have
become drug addicts to their own chemistry to the point where they dont
wanna do anything but sit around and feel high. Brilliant move by the
people who sell the books. Not good for the people buying em. Thats why
they get annoyed by “negative vibes” because its ruining their high that
they have slowly built up with imaginary positive thoughts which increase
their dopamine and adrenaline. Life created these chemicals which get you
high as fuck so that when you acomplish something you feel a great high and
you want to do more “actions” which lead to the same high of
accomplishment.. But even just thinking and pretending you are
accomplishing things give the same high..And the people who invented the
law of attraction took advantage of that science and used it to get people
hooked. And of course they will defend the law of attraction till the end..
Its what supplies them their drugs. All druggies are in total denial and
will fight anyone who trys to take away their high. Now some people will
say.. well but I attracted things without doing anything.. yea.. thats
fucking life.. if you wait around long enough eventually something good
will come to you.. does it blow your mind that good things might just come
to you if you wait long enough? but what about all the days u got nothing..
u just forget about them and praise the one little day something good
happened? what a waste of life you are missing out on so many other days to
    get shit done.

I agree. The Secret is bullshit. It IS true to an extent about postiive
thinking but you have to keep it within realistic boundaries. My roommate
bought into a bullshit pyramid scheme and started watching that, doing
vision boards, thinking he’s some entrepeneur but he’s not really goin
ganywher ewith it and it will end up being overall negative even though
he’s trying to think positive (in this case it would be being delusional)

The Secret does explain it very delusional, but it’s very simple you can’t
just think your way into a new life or job, skills etc. It’s basically
Positive thoughts + Positive action = Your experience.

You can’t just think and “BOOM!” It’s there. Fuck no if you declare
something is true for yourself then there you go! Go on and live your
    philosophy. DONE.

Right on, brother! I totally agree with you. These people just believe in a
simplified version of quantum mechanics, and it’s totally false: “For the
record: Quantum mechanics does not deny the existence of objective reality.
Nor does it imply that mere thoughts can change external events. Effects
still require causes, so if you want to change the universe, you need to
act on it.” ~ Lawrence M. Krauss, professor of physics

I am dealing with a life-threatening illness right now, and I wish I had a
dollar for each of the people who have told me how I attracted this into my
life and just need to think my way out of it, when I have one of the
healthiest lifestyles and am one of the most disciplined and capable
people. This way of thinking only serves to divide us, and alleviate
selfish narcissistic people from their responsibilities of looking out for
their fellow human beings. Thank you for posting this. I will be sharing
    it. You are exactly right.

Dr. Masaru Emoto, a researcher and alternative healer from Japan has given
the world a good deal of evidence of the magic of positive thinking. He
became famous when his water molecule experiments featured in the 2004
film, What The Bleep Do We Know? His experiments demonstrate that human
thoughts and intentions can alter physical reality, such as the molecular
structure of water. Given that humans are comprised of at least 60% water,
his discovery has far reaching implications… can anyone really afford to
    have negative thoughts or intentions?

The rice experiment is another famous Emoto demonstration of the power of
negative thinking (and conversely, the power of positive thinking.) Dr
Emoto placed portions of cooked rice into two containers. On one container
he wrote “thank you” and on the other “you fool”. He then instructed school
children to say the labels on the jars out loud everyday when they passed
them by. After 30 days, the rice in the container with positive thoughts
had barely changed, while the other was moldy and rotten.

That’s what happend when you teach this law of attraction a sheeple with
small brain… They should be awake first and start use they brain on daily
basis and then introduce to the law. otherwise its leads them and us to
    disaster.

MLM Networkers hype up the “law of attraction religion”. Often time is is
leveraged on others for financial gain of some sort. But overall thinking
positive about life helps in all ways, including productivity.
